The Soter device is the smallest and lightweight wearable solution that monitors and understands an individual's risk of injury
- Device measures & monitors 10 at-risk movements in real-time
- Works independently from the phone in the workplace
- Provides real-time feedback to the worker via audio and haptic feedback

Personalized Training & Insights
Training, personalized to the individual's actual movements and injury risk, is delivered to the worker via the app (available in English, French, Spanish, German and other languages)
- 20-day personalized training program
- Gives bursts of relevant daily micro-learning tutorials to assist behavioural change
- Worker does not need a phone in the workplace (coaching is delivered daily on a phone or communal tablet)

Analytics Dashboard
The dashboard is the link between the workers using SoterCoach and the organization, this provides managers with the complete state of progress

How SoterCoach Works
SoterCoach puts the worker first through human-centric design which makes it very easy to use, manage and scale across organizations of any industry and size. The solution implementation process takes less than 1 hour for 100’s of workers, with a tangible result observed after 10 days of use.

Employees wear the device on back or shoulder for 2-4 weeks, getting real-time feedback

Follow ergonomic coaching programs, delivered via the App or a communal tablet, for 3-5 minutes daily

Employees improve their ergonomic safety by reducing the average number of daily hazardous movements by 30-60%

The Intensity Model
Our team of doctors, ergonomists, technical engineers, data scientists and movement specialists conducted a 2-year study. The intensity model was conceptualized and built based on an individual’s natural movements and synthetic movements. Over 10,000 high intensity and low intensity movements were recorded, and the device was taught to distinguish them.
The Soter device does not measure the weight of objects but rather the intensity of a movement – the movement is defined as highly intensive when a person finds it physically difficult to perform. Every time a person makes a movement (e.g., lifting an object) the Soter wearable device collects high-frequency Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) data. This data is fed into a neural network which, based on our 2-year study, is trained to understand if the person finds the particular movement difficult or not.
Through machine learning, the intensity model continually self-learns to calculate how the worker’s risk is adjusting.
Learn MoreDesigned to
Engage Workers
Knowing that modern workers must wear some form of apparatus daily, like helmets, vests, headsets, and other equipment, we have designed the Soter device to be mounted on any piece of existing personal hardware via smart adapters.
With the 30-day battery life of the Soter devices, once attached, they do not have to be removed until the program is completed.

The Charging Hub
The fully-autonomous charging hub with an integrated tablet to launch and scale the solution in just a few hours. The hub ensures the rapid check-in/check-out process, provides straight access to the data and charges of up to 40 devices simultaneously. Workers receive training content via a communal tablet. For even faster check-in/check-out can be connected with barcode scanners and scan guns.
The hub fully is independent of a corporate IT-resources and works without Wi-Fi due to the integrated LTE module. Can be easily rotated between multiple sites.

Training Programs

Manual Handling Training
Manual Handling Training would help to increase awareness of posture and body mechanics through the biofeedback from the device, together with the Manual Handling Coaching program, delivered through the mobile app.

Early Intervention Training
Prevent severe injuries by providing an Early Intervention Training program. Thorough technique coaching, stretching and advice are offered to intervene and prevent the beginning of a strain becoming a recordable injury. Help your workers to manage early signs of injury, without taking time away from work.

Frequently Asked Questions
- HOW DOES THE DEVICE WORK?
- Measures all the bending, twisting and lifting movements you make.
- Calculates if the movement is hazardous.
- If it is hazardous, the device gives an audible and vibration notification.
- See “what is a hazardous movement” for types of notification.
- WHAT IS A HAZARDOUS MOVEMENT?
A hazardous movement is any movement associated with an increased risk of injury.
Poor lifting technique, forward bending with low intensity > One short beep & vibration.
Poor lifting technique, forward bending with high intensity (heavy load requiring effort) > Three long beeps & vibration.
Twisting (rotation of the trunk) >Three short beeps & vibration.
Repetition of any of the above listed movements within a minute is not notified but tracked in our data as a separate risk.
Sustained awkward postures (either bent forward or twisted) is also tracked in the data but no notification is given to the user at the time the movement is performed.
- WHAT IS THE SOTERCOACH PROGRAM?
A 20-day program to help coach you to use better working postures and avoid ergonomic injury.
There are 2 stages:
- 8 hours without notifications to calibrate our algorithms.
- 19-day Awareness and Improvement program.
It consists of a wearable device and mobile application.
You must wear the device and synchronize with the app every working day to successfully complete the program.
